Carriage of baggage and carry-on baggage

Free Baggage Allowance

For security reasons, all passenger baggage, including cabin baggage, must be presented at check-in.

Passenger baggage that the airline agrees to transport while accepting responsibility for its safety is marked with a baggage tag and transported in the hold, and is called checked baggage.

All of Aeroflot’s own flights use a piece concept system (based on the number of checked baggage pieces to be transported). This system distinguishes between different classes of service and/or applicable fares and destinations.

Free baggage allowance (per passenger)

Class of service/fare family[1]

Free baggage allowance, number of pieces
(sum of 3 dimensions not exceeding 158 cm)

Carry-on baggage
(maximum length 55 cm, width 40 cm, height 25 cm)

Business class: all fare families (including business class award tickets under the Aeroflot Bonus loyalty programme)

2 baggage pieces, up to 32 kg per piece

1 baggage piece up to 15 kg

Comfort class: all fare families (including comfort class award tickets under the Aeroflot Bonus loyalty programme)

2 baggage pieces, up to 23 kg per piece

1 baggage piece up to 10 kg

Business class: Flex fare family (Premium until 29 January 2019)

2 baggage pieces, up to 23 kg per piece

1 baggage piece up to 10 kg

Comfort class: all fare families (including economy class award tickets under the Aeroflot Bonus loyalty programme)

1 baggage piece up to 23 kg

1 baggage piece up to 10 kg

Economy class: Lite fare family

No free baggage allowance

1 baggage piece up to 10 kg

[1] You can check which fare family a fare belongs to in the "Fare Applicability Rules" section.

If the total weight of the passenger's baggage including carry-on does not exceed 10 kg, then any number of baggage pieces can be checked in as free baggage.

The number of baggage pieces transported as free checked baggage is specified in the ticket/passenger receipt as 1PC/2PC/3PC.
For fares of the Lite fare family that do not provide a free baggage allowance, NIL is specified in the ticket/passenger receipt.

The above free baggage allowances for checked baggage are in effect for the entire route in both directions, from the check-in to the destination or to the first stop en route exceeding 24 hours (stopover), on condition that all the flights are operated by Aeroflot.

On code-sharing flights, the carrier airline's baggage allowance may apply. If a trip involves flights by carriers other than Aeroflot, including code-sharing flights, the free baggage allowance is determined according to the rules of the route's most significant carrier (detailed information is available from our Contact Centre).

On code-sharing flights by Aurora and Rossiya airlines, the baggage allowance for Aeroflot flights applies.

Exception: on direct and connecting routes (without a stopover) involving code share flights operated by Aurora (HZ) on Q-400 aircraft, the free baggage allowance is one piece with a weight not exceeding 23 kg for all fare families (regardless of the class of service) that include free baggage allowance.

If separate tickets have been purchased for separate flights along a route, the free checked baggage allowances specified on the tickets are used for the corresponding flights.

Children aged 2 to 12 have the same free checked baggage allowances as adult passengers.

Infants (without a separate seat) with tickets from the Lite fare family are not eligible for a free baggage allowance.
For infants and babies up to 2 years old (who do not require a separate seat) with tickets from other fare families, the free checked baggage allowance is 1 bag not exceeding 10 kg in weight and whose sum of 3 dimensions does not exceed 115 cm, regardless of the class of service.
